Very Hungry Caterpillars

Look at these very cute caterpillars that Reception have made.

Crawling Caterpillars to Beautiful Butterflies

We took delivery of 35 caterpillars. Look how tiny they were when they arrived.

We watched carefully as the caterpillars got bigger and bigger and finally created their 'sleeping bag' cocoons. After ten days of patience our first butterfly hatched. We were very excited.

Our first butterfly

Patiently waiting for more butterflies to emerge!

All but one butterfly emerged and because it was so wet and rainy, Mrs Bradley had to take the butterflies home to release them in her garden over half term on a sunnier day.

Dabbling Ducks

Inspired by the mallard ducks we saw at Pittville Park, Reception sketched and painted their own ducks and created a water-colour wash as a background.

Aren't they stunning?
